I still want Nate and Jenny.  The two were PERFECT for each other.

So, here’s my wonder:

We know that Gossip Girl thrives on the unexpected.  So, what if it’s Dan that doesn’t say it?  Think about the possibility: Dan does love Blair, but he fears that she is not over Chuck.  He sees Blair and Chuck getting along more in the upcoming episodes, and he fears that Chuck is an even bigger threat.  He continues to confront Blair about it, and Blair tries to assure him that everything is okay.  In this effort, Blair says “I love you,” but Dan believes that she is saying it to convince him that she is over Chuck.  So, he is afraid to say it back.  Saying it would make him completely vulnerable, and he is not ready to get his heart that broken.
